Popular English Goalkeepers Who Will Be Remembered Always

The goalkeeper is the person who has to single handedly deal with the area between the posts during a football game. He is the person who defends his own team’s goal in order to prevent the opponent scoring. If a goalkeeper doesn't do his job well, a team can't win any game. The goalkeeper is often referred to as a goalie or simply the keeper.

A goalkeeper is usually given a number 1 shirt and many people irrespective of their age want to own England football shirts with a number 1 on them. Goalkeepers are worshiped by their fans by wearing shirts that represent their favourite player. Even though goalkeepers are often called as number 1 for the team, players can choose their own favorite t shirt numbers and many famous players have distinct numbers like 99 on their shirt to differentiate them from the rest of the players.

The England football team has made glorious victories in the past and there are a few goalkeepers of the team who are never forgotten. Many famous players continued good spells on the field and participated in every major game. There are a few football shirts , dedicated to idols that are still popular even if the era of the hero keeper has passed.

David Seaman is England’s second most capped player with 75 caps. During the late 80s and early 90s, he participated in various international games. Experts and fans name the Euro 96 tournament as his best performance ever. David continued enthralling his fans, playing for over 1000 games in his career.
Peter Shilton is the player who got most caps for England with a total of 125 caps. He was always prominent in games for thirty years in his career which started in 1970. A spectacular season earned a spot for him in the Euro 1980 championship game. He was defeated by Diego Maradona in 1986 world cup. He has played in 1000 football league games.

Ray Clemence is a man who showed exceptional talents and won 61 caps for England. He competed with Peter Shilton for the number 1 Jersey and he received his position in rotation with Shilton. He became the captain of England for a friendly match against Brazil and was the first keeper to become a captain after Frank Swift.

People who watched football games can never forget Gordon Banks as he was the second best goalkeeper in the world during the 20th century. He won 73 caps and he became a part of a successful England football team. Even today, England football shirts with pictures and number of Gordon Banks are hot sellers. Banks’s career was ended due to an unfortunate accident that caused loss of sight in his right eye.

Chris Woods played for England only for 8 years, but he gained immense popularity. In the early 1990s, he was recognized as England's number 1. Woods was selected in the football squad during 1986 World Cup, but he didn’t play on the field until the Euro 92 tournament. His last appearance on the field was during the summer tour in 1993.

Guide to Sports Injury Prevention and Treatment

Injuries incurred during sports activities are an issue that most athletes and coaches are accustomed to. They can cause physical pain to the athlete, but in many cases can disable the entire team. An injured team member can cause setbacks in game performance and can have enduring influence on the season as well. Like a team is affected by a missing member, a disabled body part has a negative impact on the entire body. Lower-leg conditions such as shin splints, ankle injuries, and twisted knees can be caused by improper form, lack of flexible muscle tone, and overuse of the areas below the knees. As reported by medical doctors at the Cleveland Clinic, most athletes suffer from shin splints at one point or another. Here are ways to avoid and heal these painful problems, as well as averting other common sports injuries.

The Mechanics of Shin Splints
Shin splints cause symptoms such as pain in the front or side areas of the lower leg. The pain can be dramatic and excruciating, especially when putting pressure on the affected leg. There can also be swelling in the area that can produce tightness as well as produce visible inflammation and tenderness around the muscles. No matter what type of sport, from soccer to baseball any athlete can be affected by these conditions. It is essential that treatment for shin splints  be commenced within minutes to jump-start the tissue repair process. The most common shin splints treatment recommended by sports injury specialists includes rest, elevation, and icing of the painful area for one to two days. Ongoing physical therapy and strengthening exercises include strength training moves and stretching of the Achilles tendon and the front leg muscles that surround the shin bone.

Twisting Injuries: How Weak Muscles Affect the Tendons and Ligaments
Twisting injuries are also commonly seen in impact-type sports. This is caused by either a blunt-force injury, which cannot be prevented, or from weak muscles of the knee, lower leg, and ankle. Weak muscles can be strengthened with weight bearing or movements recommended by a sports therapist that target the muscular areas that support the knees and ankles. Weak muscles lead to tendons and ligaments that cannot hold the bones and muscles together tightly so that simple movements or motions can cause twisting injuries. Another effective measure for avoiding these types of injuries are to be sure the feet have proper arch support.  This can be accomplished through sports orthotic inserts that support the foot during impact. The medical professionals at the Cleveland Clinic also advise taping the arch for added foot arch support during games.

Tearing Injuries Commonly Suffered
Spraining of the ligaments or tendons are also typical kinds of sports-related injuries. This is most commonly found in the connecting structures of the knees and back of the heels. An Achilles injury is commonly caused by little flexibility in the heel tendon due to improper stretching exercises. This is a vital part in the preparation procedure that cannot be overlooked. Mild stretches without force are suggested for anyone about to exercise. Experts in kinesiology advise a half-minute stretch followed by a short rest and then a repeat stretch. ACL (Anterior cruciate ligaments) are located in the knee and help maintain the knee structure together. Injuries to this area can be avoided by strength training the knee and lower leg through leg extension exercises and curls. The right orthotic inserts  can help avoid both of these kinds of injuries by supplying proper arch support, alignment of the feet, and cushion.

Soccer World Cup - History in the Making

The FIFA World Cup (often called the Football World Cup or simply the World Cup) is the most essential competition in international football (soccer), and the world's most representated team sport event. Organized by Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the sport's governing body, the World Cup is contested by the men's national football teams of FIFA member nations. With exception in 1942 and 1946 (du to World War II) the championship has been awarded every four years since the first tournament in 1930. However it is more of an ongoing event as the qualifying rounds of the competition take place over the three years preceding the final rounds. The final tournament phase (often called the "Finals") involves 32 national teams competing over a four-week period in a previously nominated host nation, with these games making it the most widely-viewed sporting event in the world. In the 18 tournaments held, only seven nations have ever won the World Cup Finals. Brazil is the most successful World Cup team, having won the tournament five times, following by Italy (won four times) and Germany with three titles. The next football World Cup Finals will be held in South Africa in 2010. And you can watch World Cup online on your PC anyplace internet is available.

The opening international football match was played in 1872 between England and Scotland, although at this stage the sport was rarely played outside Great Britain. As football began to increase in popularity, it was held as a demonstration sport (with no medals awarded) at the 1900, 1904 and 1906 Summer Olympics before football became an official competition at the 1908 Summer Olympics. Organised by England's Football Association, the affair was for amateur players solely and was regarded suspiciously as a show comparatively than a competition. Both events (1908 and 1912) were won by the England national amateur football team.

With the Olympic event continuing to be contested only between amateur teams, Sir Thomas Lipton organised the Sir Thomas Lipton Trophy tournament in Turin in 1909. The competition is frequently described as The First World Cup, and featured the most esteemed professional club sides from Italy, Germany and Switzerland. The first tournament was won by West Auckland, an amateur team from north-east England that was invited after the Football Association refused to be associated with the competition. West Auckland returned in 1911 to proudly defend their title, and were given the trophy to keep forever, as per the rules of the competition.

In 1914, FIFA agreed to recognise the Olympic tournament as a "world football championship for amateurs", and took obligation for organising the event. This led the way for the world's first intercontinental football competition, at the 1924 Summer Olympics. Uruguay won the tournament, before winning the gold medal again in 1928, with different South American team, Argentina, taking silver. In 1928 FIFA made the decision to stage their own international tournament.

The 1932 Summer Olympics, held in Los Angeles, did not plan to include football (soccer) as part of the programme due to the low popularity of football in the United States. FIFA and the IOC also disagreed over the status of amateur players, and so football was dropped from the Games. FIFA president Jules Rimet thus set about organising the first World Cup tournament. With Uruguay, now two-time official football world champions, and to celebrate their centenary of independence in 1930, FIFA named it as the host country.

The national associations of several countries were invited to send a team, but the choice of Uruguay as a venue for the competition meant a long and costly trip across the Atlantic Ocean for European sides. Indeed, no European country pledged to send a team until two months before the start of the competition. Rimet finally persuaded teams from Belgium, France, Romania, and Yugoslavia to make the trip.

For the occasion Uruguay built one of the most outstanding Stadium of the South America: l’Estadio Centenario. The World Cup started on July 13, 1930 with the match between France and Mexico, won by France 4-1. In total 13 nations took part: — seven from South America, four from Europe and two from North America. They were split in 4 groups. Winner of each group advanced to the semi-finals. With no stunning developments the teams who made to the the final were Uruguay and Argentina. In the first half Argentina dominated, with two goals (Peucelle  e Stabile) versus one (Dorado). In the second half Uruguayan scored three times (Cea, Iriarte  e Castro) and won the final becoming the first World Champions. Finally, who scored the first goal of the World Cup History? The answer is: the french player Lucien Laurent, after 19 minutes of the first match France – Mexico.

Unfortunately Internet wasn't invented than and people were not able to watch World Cup online yet.

The last World Cup was held in 2006 in Germany. It is the first World Cup for which the previous winner had to qualify; the host nation(s) will continue to receive an automatic berth. First seed and holders Brazil and second seeded England were initially English bookmakers' favourites. A strong performance by Germany brought them as far as the semifinals. However, the final match-up was between Italy and France, in which French captain Zinedine Zidane was sent off in the last 10 minutes of extra time for a head butt to the chest of Italian central defender Marco Materazzi. Italy went on to win 5-3 in a penalty shootout, the score having been 1-1 after 90 minutes and extra time.

A spin-off tournament, the FIFA Women's World Cup, was first held in 1991. It is similar to  the men's tournament in format, but so far has not generated the same level of interest. You could also watch it online.

If you are attempting to find an athletes foot cure, then I’m delighted you’ve stumbled upon this article, and I hope to help youheal your condition.

Athletes foot is simply speaking an attack of the ringworm fungus generally known as trichophyton. Athletes foot signs and symptoms will begin in earnest as the fungal infection invades the skin on your feet. It is this invasion that causes the agonizing irritation associated with athlete's foot symptoms.

This problem can cause a substantial amount of discomfort and can affect a person's quality of life. The skin involved is probably red, inflamed and may contain sticky fluid. Sufferers commonly report a burning or stinging sensation and may also experience a scaly dry rash on the bottom and sides of their feet. This type of athlete's foot is known as "moccasin" pattern.

The fungus may also worm its way under and around your toenails causing a fungal nail infection.
Should you have an extremely bad case of athletes foot, then you may even experience the horrible cracking, lesions, fissures and peeling seen, all too frequently, with serious cases.

If athletes foot is not dealt with the cracks and lesions may become infected and very painful.

Soccer Coaching Tips: Teaching New Soccer Skills

Communication of ideas from a coach to players is critical for a team’s success.  Most coaches are not great teachers. There are significant ways to get your point across to youth players that will switch to eventual wins.
Players learn best when they’re given a demonstration of a skill and an explanation at the same time. Use simple terms and, if possible, relate the skill to skills that the players have previously learned. Ask your players whether they understand what you’re telling them. A good method is to ask the team to repeat your explanation. As questions like “What are you going to do now?” and “Then what?” Should players look confused, repeat your explanation and demonstration.

Every player is unique and a team is not unlike a classroom situation. Some players learn better by reading, some by seeing, and some by actually performing soccer drills. When coaching soccer, it is significant to aim at each way of learning when a new idea is presented. Some players seem as if they’ll never pick up a new skill then one day something just clicks and they look as if they’ve been performing the skill their whole lives.

If possible, use different words so that your players can try to understand the skill from a different perspective. Also remember that whenever you bring players into a group to make a soccer coaching point, you must be clear and concise. Try to visualize yourself teaching your team so that you can discuss a point as clearly as possible. Also, take advantage of technology. Don’t be afraid to film players so they can see what they’re doing wrong or give video presentations of high level players performing a complex play.

Difficult skills can be learned faster when you explain them in smaller parts. For instance, if you want to teach your players how to change direction when they dribble the ball, you might take the following steps:
  • Show players a correct performance of the entire skill and explain its function in soccer.
  • Break down the skill and call attention to its component parts to your players.
  • Have players perform each of the component skills you have already taught them, such as dribbling while running, changing speed, and changing direction.
  • After players have demonstrated their ability to perform the separate parts of the skill in sequence, explain the entire skill again.
  • Allow the players to apply the skill as if they were playing a game.
Youth players have short attention spans, and a long demonstration or explanation of a skill may cause them to stop paying attention. Therefore, spend only a few minutes on each of the phases of introduction, demonstration, and explanation. Then involve the players in activities and soccer drills that makes them to perform the skill. If a player can add a new soccer skill to their list, they will experience great achievment.

Dutch team hopes to see fast recovery of Robben

It seems the Dutch soccer team is not going to have to miss master striker Robben from Bayern Munich after all. Arjen Robben, who was voted as best player of the German Bundesliga collapsed in the match from The Netherlands against Hungary after making what seemed like a innocent move. Robben, who is known for his sensitivity to injuries, plays a leading role in the Dutch national soccer team. In the game against Hungary, won by the Dutch with a stunning 6-1, Robben scored two great goals.

Robben is part of what the Dutch call “the big four,” which further include Arsenal striker Robin van Persie, Inter midfielder Wesley Sneijder and Real Madrid midfielder Rafael van der Vaart. These 4 players are considered the key players of the Netherlands on the upcoming World Championship in South Africa. When Arjen Robben got injured, the hopes of the Dutch nation to become the World Champions 2010 went up in smoke so it seemed. A poll in the biggest Dutch newspaper showed that the Dutch people see Arjen Robben as the key to success in the African country.

Holland has very bad memories when it comes to injuries of their key players. In the past, striker Marco van Basten  even had to give up his soccer career because of a ankle injury, caused by the many attacks on the ankle of the Dutchman. Like Marco van Basten, Arjen Robben is sometimes subject to foul attacks from the defense of the opponent. Van Basten had a great teacher in Johan Cruijff, who was a master in avoiding foul attacks on his legs and seemed to have a pair of eyes in the back of his head. Yet, when you have the quality of Marco van Basten or Robben, in the game of soccer these days, this is not enough apparently. Intangible for the defense the opponents seem to have no other choice than to foul incredible players like Robben.

When Arjen Robben recovers in time and is able to excel in South Africa (scans made in a hospital in Rotterdam brought to light he had a smaller injury of the hamstring then first assumed), the defense of the opponent will use all necessary means to stop Robben from leading the Dutch to victory. Let’s hope (for the game’s sake) they don’t succeed in injuring him that badly, he will not be able to show the audience his incredible skills.

Players like Arjen Robben, Lionel Messi from Argentina and Christiano Ronaldo from Portugal are the ones that people visit a stadium for. Since another exceptional striker of world fame is already absent in South Africa (Didier Drogba from Ivory Coast), it would be more than unfortunate for all soccer fans to miss out on another exceptional soccer talent. But in the beginning of June, most soccer fans seem to have only one thing in their minds: Let the games begin! With the injury of Arjen Robben however, the Dutch wouldn’t mind postponing it a week or two.

But whatever will happen, one thing is inevitable: the coming four weeks the country of South Africa will be the center of the Earth.

Albert Einstein and Otto Stern first introduced the concept of zero point energy in 1913, this is the most foundational level of all matter. I do not really comprehend what all if this really means, I do know for a fact that this has introduced a new field of scientific studies.

            Soccer History Information

Football rules were first written in England. The English first brought football into France in 1863, forming their first club. The first official  international match which is recognised by FIFA was played between Scotland and England on November 30 1872.. This match was played under the Football Association rules. England won the first international game in 1873.

The formation of the Football League was inducted in 1888 by Aston Villa director William McGregor. there were twelve fouder members. They consisted of six from Lancashire ;Blackburn Rovers, Burnley, Bolton Wanderers, Accrington, Everton and Preston North End and six from the Midlands; Derby County, Notts County, Stoke, West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers who took part in it.

manchester was the top team of England. In1904 it won the FA Cup. Further domination of the game came with Liverpool, who victorious two league titles in 1901 and 1906, and Everton, who won the FA Cup in 1906. Arsenal won two more titles and the FA cup in1953 but could not keep the pace afterwards for nearly two decades.. Liverpool after winning a title also suffered the same as Arsenal. Manchester came again and won the legue title in 1952,1956 and 1957. In 1958 the Munich air disaster killed eight players ..

After 26 years Manchester became victorious the premiership league and went on to influenced the English football in 1990. During this year they won five league titles, one league cup and  one winners cup.
.Manchester United's outstanding successwin has continued. Arsenal won matches in 2002 and 2004. It did not lost a single league game through out the season. United also won in 2004 and 2006 United also won the league titles in 2000, 2001, 2003 and 2007. Manchester United gained a comfortable position at the top of the Premiership, with Chelsea as the contender.. Liverpool,Arsenal and Everton contended same way for the European positions.

The English national football team represents England in international football and is controlled by The Football Association; the governing body for football in England..The English national team during this period travelled in a rough road to their success. The England team of the 1990s and 2000s has been consistently in football's top twenty countries, but could not cross ahead of the quarter finals in any international tournaments except Italia 90 and Euro 96..They failed to qualify for the 1994 World Cup but reached the semi-finals in Euro 96 and lost on penalties to Germany at the semi-finals.  In 1998 they were automatically qualified. The reign was marked with little success, with England did not succeed to qualify for the 2008 European Championships. 2010 sees the FIFA World Cup, get ready for the biggest sporting event and hopefully enjoy!

"Bafana Bafana Bring it Home to Mama" Theme Song

The 2010 FIFA World Cup to take place in South Africa will be the country’s “defining moment”, as commented by an authoritative official. With only a matter of weeks left before the soccer showpiece kicks off, plans are well underway, said Danny Jordaan, Chief Executive Officer of the local organising committee.

In just a matter of days time, South Africa begins what Jordaan believes will be one of South Africa's most important moments, the Soccer Worldcup 2010. This defining moment will be endured for a full month, a period where the attention of the world will be completely consumed by what is happening in South Africa.

Jordaan has called on all South Africans to play a role in the World Cup since this is "our" event. He goes on to say that a huge part of the Soccer Worldcup success relies on how all South Africans host the Soccer Worldcup this year. It is everyone's obligation to ensure that South Africa as a unified voice shows all the visitors and the international TV viewers the warmness, friendship and togetherness of the South African people.

President Jacob Zuma has called on all South Africans to support the national soccer team, respectfully known by its nickname Bafana Bafana.

So what else could we expect than a response from none other than the king of sports lyrics, a Soccer Worldcup song with a true South African spirit. You guessed it, it’s Leon Schuster with the Bafana BafanaSouth Africa Worldcup 2010 song “Khutala Bo” (Kick It Up).   Enjoyable and a depiction of South Africa’s kind hospitality, set against some incredible images of their fantastic scenic countryside.

            Worldchampionship for the Dutch?

The Dutch soccer team is preparing for the World Championship in South Africa and their results so far are striking. Especially players Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder from Inter Milan and Robin van Persie (and let’s not forget Rafael van der Vaart from Spanish giant Real Madrid) are on the top of their game in the last months and in the Champions League final Wesley Sneijder, Arjen Robben and Mark van Bommel (son in law of coach Bert van Marwijk) played a great game.

The Dutch team has made it to the World Cup final twice in a row, in 1974 in West Germany and 1978. In 1974 Dutch captain Johan Cruijff was by far the best player of the world and Johan Cruijff was also chosen best player of the tournament in 1974. The world still wonders how it was ever possible that the Dutch team lost that final against West Germany. In 1978 it was top player Rob Rensenbrink who hit the post in the last minute of the World Cup against Argentina. Although less impressive than in 1974, the Dutch only lost after extra time, the first World Cup final that didn’t end after 90 minutes but went into extra time. Argentina, with key players Mario Kempes and Osvaldo Ardiles eventually won 3-1.

The Dutch team has always had top quality players (in recent history everyone remembers strikers Marco van Basten and Dennis “The Iceman” Bergkamp) but never really came as close again as they were in 1978. In 1988 Marco van Basten had led them to the European Championship, the only title the Dutch have won so far, with an incredible goal in the final. The reached the semi final in 1998 but lost it on penalties against Brazil. Dennis Bergkamp had scored his famous goal in the 89th minute of the quarter final against Argentina, a goal for which the English supporters honored him with the slogan “Dennis is God.”

This year it seems to all depend on the form of Wesley Sneijder and Arsenal’s Robin van Persie, although the other teams probably fear dribble king Arjen Robben most. His very first season in Germany with Bayern Munich was a total success and Robben seemed to score his goals in every important for Bayern, including the incredible strike against fellow Dutchman Edwin van der Sar, goalie of Manchester United in a most memorable quarter final of the Champions League.

If all Dutch players play like they played with their club teams this season, the Dutch are not just an outsider for the World Cup, but a likely winner. Only time will tell.

West Ham United - Another Popular Football Club

The West Ham United Football Club or more known simply as West Ham United has been one of the popular football clubs mainly because of the achievements of the club itself.

Initially, the East London club played in the Southern League and Western League before 1919 when the club advanced to full Football League and then enjoyed top flight season promotion. In 1923, a lot of football fans were surprised how the club competed in the FA Cup Final at Wembley. And the club in the next years continued to surprise a lot of fans with some good performances in some big football events.

Right now, West Ham United competes in the Premier League. In the 2009–10 season of the well-known league, the club was only able to have the 17th position. With how they performed the past league season, some fans were indeed disappointed. But in 1998–99 season, the East London club finished fifth.

The club’s most recent manager was Gianfranco Zola, who replaced Alan Curbishley in 2008. For two seasons, the Italian indeed handled the club just right.

Well, at this point in time, the club is still without a manager. And sports betting firms are just trying to provide odds for the next West Ham United manager betting.

Currently, there are odds for Portsmouth manager as favorite to be the next West Ham United manager. There are also odds for former Hammer, Croatia boss. And there are also odds for ex-Blackburn and Manchester City gaffer.

To be the next manager of West Ham United after Zola, the Portsmouth manager is the favorite. However, this is only when it comes to the betting that is going on. We don’t know who exactly is right to be the next manager of the East London club for the officials of the club. It maybe be someone else.

Help Your Team By Way Of Football Flags!

Football is definitely a extremely competitive sport that grips a large percentage of the public every season. Men, women, adults and children alike enjoy going along and boosting their much-loved team play each week. The overall game is one that's associated with a rollercoaster of various emotions including passion, emotion, excitement and dedication. Even though fans may support different teams depending on their whereabouts and preference across the world, the emotions experienced throughout a typical game are universal.

Needless to say all sports fans are very obsessed with their favourite sport, but there's something different about football that literally brings the most extreme emotions of happiness and anger in people. It is fair to say that football could be the main reason for sports-related violence in the world. Even though rugby is a very physical game, you do not get the sort of violence or crime that is often associated with football. There isn't any clear reason why this is so, however the power of emotion is apparently magnified in a game of football with at least two thirds of fans admitting they have cried at football matches- most likely through joy or because of a feeling of utter despair.

With the 2010 FIFA World Cup looming this gives football fans a chance to exercise their appreciation for the game and for their country. The World Cup often encourages those people who are not necessarily big football fans to get behind our team by supporting our nation. The best way to show your support as a football fan is by using a football flag. It's understandable that the World Cup stadium this year in South Africa is going to be filled with supporters and their custom flags as a display of support to their country. Football fans across the world use flags as a way of conveying a terrific sense of support towards a certain team or country and with this support comes an atmosphere of pride and unification. If you go to an away match and are standing in a different stadium surrounded by other people with the same flag as you, you can not help but feel an immense pride for your country. Not only do football flags develop a sense of unity and pride for the supporters but it also helps the players to execute well when they know they have the fans behind them.

Investing in any sort of sports items such as football flags may also raise a substantial amount of income for any club, therefore by purchasing a flag of your favourite team you're really supporting them where it counts. Football flags will always be extremely popular amongst football fans as the ultimate sign of support. You could decide among a variety of different styles of flags from hand held ones to huge flags and you can even obtain a football flag to place on your car to show your support wherever you go!

For the very best in flags visit the Flag Makers website to custom make any flag that you would like! You are able to choose everything from the material to the size, so get you a flag sorted for the World Cup 2010 and show your support immediately!

            Advice for Youth Football Coaches

Here are some simple goals for football coaches at the youth level, freshman and junior varsity high school level.  As a coach that would be described as an "ultra-competitive" person this is difficult for me to discuss, but is necessary. Here we go...the  first  priority for coaches who are priveledged enough to coach young football players must focus on teaching proper techniques and mechanics. Winning games at this level should not be the top priority. This fact can not be forgotten by youth coaches. Instead of taking on the mindset that proper technique and relying on sound schemes to produce victories, many coaches focus attention on trick plays or the few "star" players on their team. Coaches that interact with young players must realize that their first priority is to teach these athletes proper skills early on, so they will be successful as they continue on through their playing career. Far too many skills are having to be re-taught as these young players come up through the various levels. Youth coaches should take pride in what they have accomplished as their former players are successful throughout high school .

To be clear in my message, I do not believe that coaches, at any level, should not try and win games.  Personally, I am "ultra-competitive". My belief is that we play the game to win the game.  Losing is a terrible feeling, and one that should not be accepted. However, there are far too many coaches (at all levels and sports) put the premium of winning ahead of preparing their players for success throughout their player days.  Youth coaches should also teach the pride in winning games as a team, rather than being individuals.  Unfortunately, numerous high school athletes aren't given the opportunity to achieve their goal of playing college athletics because they are lacking the proper technique and skills required to do so.

Here is a helpful hint for coaches of all levels: Our goal as coaches is not to re-live our playing days through our players and stroke our ego by winning games. Our goal is to help our players maximize their playing days and have their long-term success reflect on us. A fantastic site was created to help football coaches get the most relevant and useful information to assist coaches, at any level, in preparing their players for maximum success. Take advantage of the fact that you can focus on winning the right way rather than just winning.  Coaches at the college and professional level are under unbelieveable pressure to WIN, enjoy not having that pressure .

            Happy Coaching...Success=Preparation+Heart.
